Warren's 1420 MHz antenna sports the SETI League feed design, a cylindrical waveguide horn surrounded by a half-wavelength choke ring.

In this view, we see that the equipment enclosure is actually an ammunition box, bolted to the feedhorn assembly.

A fan mounted on the side of the ammo box provides cooling for the preamplifiers mounted inside. Warren's Low Noise Amplifier exhibits 28 dB of gain and a 0.35 dB noise figure at 1420 MHz.

This neat bundle of wires provides power to the antenna mounted preamplifer, and drives the dish's positioning motors.

Inside the house, an Icom 7000 receiver hands off audio to a SoundBlaster 64 card in Warren's homebrew 200 MHz Pentium computer, equipped with 64 MBytes of RAM. For Digital Signal Processing, Warren runs the FFTDSP 4.2u program. Here he's detecting a passing GPS navigation satellite.
