More than 100 EME enthusiasts from all over the world gathered at the Hotel Krystal, on high ground in flood-damaged Prague, for the 2002 edition of the biennial moonbounce conference.

Dr. Leif Lsbrink, SM5BSZ, presented details of his LinRad Linux-based DSP program. Its waterfall display should be of interest to SETI League members. LinRad is free, and may be downloaded from Leif's website.

Sadly, much of the old city of Prague was under water during the week of the EME Conference, as weeks of heavy rains caused the rivers to overflow their banks.

In all, nine SETI League members from seven countries attended the 2002 EME Conference. The next such event, scheduled for August 2004 in Trenton NJ USA, will see an even higher level of SETI League participation, as it is planned to be a combined EME Conference and SETICon Technical Symposium.

Although he normally travels with a guitar, SETI League executive director H. Paul Shuch deliberately left his at home for the trip to Prague. Nevertheless, at the Gala EME Banquet, Daniel Glanc OK1DIG unexpectedly thrust a guitar into Paul's hands, Zdenek Samek OK1DFC held a microphone in front of his face, and Paul was compelled (with very little urging) to sing one of his SETI songs.
